About: Testing Options: Comp-HSA
In fall 2004, MSDE convened a Comparable HSA (Comp-HSA) Task Force to develop a means of assessing students, with disabilities and without, who have difficulty taking traditional tests. The task force developed a set of recommendations ensuring that students taking the Comp-HSA would have to master the same content tested by the HSAs but could demonstrate their knowledge of that content differently.
The Comp-HSA is currently being piloted in Prince George's, Howard, and Talbot counties.
